100 People Who Share Bruce County donate $8,600 to Big Brothers Big Sisters

The Group 100 People Who Share Bruce County held an event recently at Ainsdale Golf Course’s Banquet room to hear from four community groups in the area.

Enthusiastic members enjoyed a great dinner and heard inspiring presentations from The Bridge, the Kincardine Lions Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Huron Heights Playground Committee.

The Bridge is a group that serves over 900 meals a month & acts as a social centre, the Lions Club spoke of their $650,000 initiative to build a wheelchair accessible park by the Davidson Centre, as well as Big Brother Big Sisters continuing to make a difference for youngsters in the area and Huron Heights Public School fundraising for a new playground.

In the end Big Brothers Big Sisters was selected in a close vote to receive proceeds of the night of $8,600.

The group looks to pass $200,000 in total donations at its next meeting in October.
