The 2023 Port Elgin Chrysler Scotties and Tankard begins tonight at the Plex.
Opening ceremonies begin at 6:15 tonight, followed by the first draw of game starting around 7:30 p.m. There will be a week of action in Saugeen Shores, culminating with the playoffs on the weekend.
Dave Middleton of the curling club says there’s also a special event on Saturday that’s free to attend.
“The Special Olympics Ontario Curling Championships. There will be four teams that will be participating in that (on Jan. 28) at 12:30 p.m.,” he says. “They’ll take to the ice just like a regular draw, they’re gonna play their game for a chance to win a championship. It’s completely free of charge, we just want to fill the arena for this event.”
Tickets to the Tankard and Scotties are still available online.
