One fatal and seven non fatal suspected opioid related drug poisonings reported to Grey Bruce Public Health in the last 7 days has prompted another Opioid Overdose Alert on Monday.
Five of the eight suspected overdoses including the death occurred over the weekend with the majority of the overdoses taking place in Owen Sound.
Fentanyl is the substance believed to be responsible for four of the eight poisonings with the substance in the death not yet confirmed but yellow and purple fentanyl were both found at the scene.
Public health has now issued 22 opioid alerts in 2024, already passing the 18 issued last year.
