A 29 year old is facing multiple charges after crashing into a fire hydrant.
On June 22nd Saugeen Shores Police were called about a vehicle which had hit the hydrant on Saugeen Beach Road which was causing severe flooding to cottages in the area.
Witnesses say they saw a man who fled the scene in his vehicle.
A licence plate was found from witnesses and a registered owner identified.
Police arrived at the address of the owner with the vehicle seen approaching the roadway when the driver then tried to flee.
Police stopped the driver, a 29 year old of Waterloo who was charged with Dangerous Operation, Failure to Remain, Operation While Impaired and Driving While Prohibited.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and then remanded into custody.
