The Community Foundation of Grey Bruce has dished out over $217,000 in grants to 58 recipients.
As part of the Spring Community Grants the CFGB increased the maximum amount for each grant to $5000 and the allowable administration expenses to 25 per cent of the requested project budget.
Various groups who received funding include;
• Big Brothers Big Sisters is offering an in-school mentoring project.
• Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce is supporting the community garden, projects to support existing clients and raising organizational resource awareness.
• Home and Community Support Services are launching a Reconciliation Journey to enhance staff capacity to deliver informed, sensitive care for our Indigenous community.
• Christmas on the Bay in Meaford will offer performances by adults with diverse abilities.
• Elephant Thoughts is working with Indigenous youth on their Bagida’waad Bunkie.
• The Sustainability Project continues support of the Youth Climate Action Forum and Food Gleaning project to divert food waste.
• United Way Bruce Grey is bolstering child wellbeing within the region by facilitating a Car Seat Safety (train the trainer) and Adverse Childhood Experiences training for staff.
• Owen Sound Minor Baseball will be offering a dedicated girl’s baseball team.
• Events for Life will provide accessible transportation and a butterfly garden
