Last Wednesday officers responded to a business in Blyth to investigate a theft of a motor vehicle incident whereupon the business owner was also threatened.
Police learned the accused attended the business and stole his vehicle out of the impound facility.
Later that day officers observed the accused operating the automobile on Harriston Road.
An officer attempted to stop the driver however he immediately took off at a high rate of speed and failed to stop.
Last Friday the accused was arrested by the Guelph Police and was later transferred over to the custody of the OPP.
A 41-year-old male of North Huron has been charged with multiple offences included theft under and over 5 thousand dollars, fraud under 5 thousand, 3 counts of failure to comply with a probation order, 2 counts of driving while suspended and operating a motor vehicle without insurance and flight from a police officer.
The accused remains in custody with a court appearance later today at a Goderich court.
