When it comes to cancellations due to poor weather, the Avon Maitland District School Board is providing some information for parents as winter begins to poke its head out.
The school board says their goal is to keep all school buildings open for those who can arrive safely and its the bus operators who make the calls around bus cancellations while staff consider the factors of school closures.
In times where school buses are canceled, schools still remain open following the regular schedule. When it comes to school closures, Google classrooms will be available as educators will post instructions for subjects which students can complete on their own.
The board adds they are aware not all students have access to online learning and as such, learning activities for school closure days will not be assessed.
