Arran-Elderslie Gets Approval for Water Infrastructure Funding

Arran-Elderslie Gets Approval for Water Infrastructure Funding

The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie alongside the provincial government have been given approval for funding for major water infrastructure.

The funding coming from the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program’s Health and Safety Water Stream will enable the complete reconstruction of Elgin Avenue and Matilda Street to boost essential water, wastewater and storm-water infrastructure to protect the health and safety of local residents.

The province is adding $1,845,409 covering 73 per cent of total eligible project costs.

Mayor Steve Hammell says strengthening water infrastructure is one of those essential projects that residents don’t always see day to day, but makes a big difference for the future of our community.
