Artemis II Crew Returns to Earth Friday Night

The crew on the Artemis II mission will touchdown in California tonight.

NASA Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch, Victor Glover and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen aboard the Orion spacecraft will complete their moon flyover mission which has broken the record for the furthest traveled in space, breaking the Apollo 13’s record.

The four are expected to hit the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego at 8:07pm eastern time, with this being the most dangerous part of the mission as they’re reach speeds of nearly 40,000 kilometres an hour.

At around 1800 metres from the surface, three main parachutes will deploy to slow down the spacecraft to just 32km/hour before making impact off San Diego.
