The Program, which is presented by the Ontario Library Association, is part of the Evergreen Award and encourages Canadians to read from a selection of shortlisted books over several months and vote for their favourite.
The OLA announced the list of 10 finalist books during their Super Conference this past February, intending to bring the best titles in Canadian fiction and non-fiction to public libraries and their patrons.
The reading program kicked off April 1st. Patrons to the Library can find the list of nominees and place their holds on these titles through the Library’s online catalogue.
They are then able to log their votes on Beanstack or through paper ballots available at the library.
Votes are due September 30th with the winner to be announced during Ontario Public Library Week held in October.
