Bruce County Council and Committees met Thursday and at its meeting a presentation was made by Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff.
He was there to honour Northern Bruce Peninsula Mayor Milt McIver with a Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Commemorative Coin.
It was recognition of his many years of service and leadership in the community and the County. McIver was re-elected in the last Municipal Election to add to his over 40 consecutive years as the head of Council in the area.
He previously served as Reeve of Lindsay Township and then as Mayor of Northern Bruce Peninsula after amalgamation in 1999.
