One of four Canadian astronauts will be part of the next mission as part of the Artemis II crew.
Joshua Kutryk of Fort Saskathewan, Alberta, Jennifer Sidey-Gibbons of Calgary, Jeremy Hansen of London or David Saint Jacques of Quebec will be part of the mission.
The crew will be the first to orbit the moon in half a century and the inclusion of a Canadian will also mark Canada being the 2nd country to have an astronaut fly around the moon.
Three other astronauts named will be American making Canada and the U.S as the only two countries to venture this far into space.
The launch is planned at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for November 2024.
