With the string of recent snowfall and more coming to pile on, residents are being reminded there’s more to being safe than just on the roads.
With another dumping snowfall, residents are being asked to take the extra time when they’re clearing their driveway to clean up any fire hydrants near their property and your household vents from your furnace, dryer and more.
Michaela Johnston, Emergency Manager for the Town of Goderich says taking the extra time is crucial.
“It’s really important to make sure those are clear, the fire hydrants so our fire departments can locate the hydrants quickly in the event of a fire in your neighbourhood and your household vents from your furnace and dryer to make sure those are clear to prevent carbon monoxide from building up in your house” said Johnston.
A snow squall warning is still in effect across the area with 15-30cm expected by Friday morning.
