A temporary cofferdam has been put in place in Pinkerton to respond to flooding affecting the area.
This cofferdam, a watertight enclosure made of sandbags was put in place to create a safe, dry and stable environment of the affected households and county roads.
Technical experts have said it could take several months before the dam owner can complete emergency repairs and flooding will likely be an ongoing problem in Pinkerton until the dam is repaired and river redirected to its original course.
Brockton is seeking emergency funding from the province to support affect homeowners and the municipalities mitigation efforts conducted as a result of the rain event which caused the flooding in Pinkerton.
