Conservative MP not pleased with the Liberal-NDP pact

The Conservative MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound believes the federal New Democrats gave up in their role as a member of the opposition.

Alex Ruff was commenting on an agreement made between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh on Monday that would effectively allow the minority Liberal government to rule as a majority until the next election in 2025.

Ruff says this move would affect bills that could impact rural areas.

Ruff says accountability and transparency will no longer be a priority for this government.

The pact would see the NDP prop up the Liberals in confidence motions in exchange for certain NDP measures being met.
