A dead crow found in Bruce County has tested positive for West Nile Virus.
The crow was submitted to the Canadian Wildlife Health Co-operative for testing on June 6th.
Grey Bruce Public Health says this is a reminder that West Nile Virus can be found in the region and reminding the importance of protecting yourself and family members from mosquito bites.
Senior Public Health Manager, Andrew Barton says while the risk of getting West Nile is low, there are still simple and effective steps people can take to prevent it.
This is the first bird to test positive for the virus in Grey Bruce this year.
