There has been a diesel spill in Hope Bay.
Saugeen Ojibway Nation’s Environment Office says the contamination is affecting the water and posing serious concern as its connected creeks are important to Saugeen Ojibway Nation members who carry out traditional activities in the area.
During this time, all members are asked to exercise caution and limit contact with the water and shoreline.
The Environment Office says diesel contamination poses risk to the fish, aquatic habitat and human health who are monitoring the situation and seeking comprehensive information on the spill and cleanup efforts.
