Donald Trump Surrenders in Georgia

Former US President Donald Trump has turned himself in at a jail in Atlanta on charges he illegally schemed to overturn the 2020 in election in Georgia.

Trump’s mugshot marks history as he confronts charges in four American cities while trying to reclaim the White House.

He is the only President in United States history to be charged with a crime.

The indictment against Trump accuses him of falsely declaring himself the winner in Georgia the day after the 2020 election.

A phone call given to news organizations has Trump telling Georgia’s secretary of state to find enough votes to make him the winner in the state.

Trump was released on a $200,000 bond where he left for New Jersey where he spoke saying he has done nothing wrong and called the case accusing him attempting to subvert election results as a travesty of justice.

This all comes during the time when the Republican party seeks a leader to run against Joe Biden in the 2024 Presidential Election.

Despite being absent at a recent Republican debate, Trump is still favoured as the candidate for the party.
