MPP Rick Byers made a stop at the Durham Curling Club this past Friday as the club puts good use to a $150,000 Ontario Trillium Grant for local curlers.
Since receiving the grant last fall the curling club has used the money to cement the floor under the ice surface with the new cement floor being able to be used year round.
When its not being used for curling the space will be used for pickleball, cornhole, ball hockey or several other activities which will promote health and wellness in West Grey.
John Nixon, President of the Durham Curling Club says they look forward to holding events and welcoming community groups to use the space for years to come.
