As work continues the Bruce County International Plowing Match and Rural Expo taking place next September, a farm tour is coming up this month to drum up the hype.
The Family Farm Tour on September 27th featuring 7 local farm owners taking part opening up their barns and showcasing local agriculture.
Running from 10am-4pm the day will be complete with live music, a silent auction and a dinner from 4-7pm at Chepstow Park.
Bill Walker, one of the Organizers for the 2026 IPM says an event like the farm tour offers a great way to show locals and visitors the inner workers of the industry.
“This is really a good expereince for people who maybe don’t have access or don’t know someone who owns or lives on a farm. They can come out, take in the day, it’ll be a great environment they can see 7 different types of farms, 7 different ways to operate farms.” said Walker.
Tickets are $30 for adults and free for those under 16.
Tickets are available at Home Hardware stores in Paisley, Walkerton, Mildmay and Essentially Lavender – Teeswater. As well as local ag dealers: Huron Tractor – Walkerton, Equipment Ontario, Mildmay, Teeswater Agri Parts – Teeswater, Roberts Equipment – Chesley, B & L – Chesley, and Mullens Farm Service – Chepstow.
