The driver of the vehicle had exited the parked car and was speaking to officers. At that time a passenger of the vehicle slid into the driver seat, put the vehicle in reverse and collided with the parked police vehicle causing damage.
The vehicle sped off from the area at a high rate of speed westbound and failed to stop at several stop signs.
Due to the dangerous operation of the vehicle and risk to public safety a pursuit was not initiated.
Police were able to identify the driver and a warrant is being sought for his arrest.
The accused will be charged with flight from police, dangerous operation, two counts of assault with a weapon and operation while prohibited.
