A flood watch has been issued by Maitland Conservation affecting the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
The recent polar vortex has brought frigid air and last over the week and with the combination of streamflow from the previous that and cold air temperatures may cause frazil ice formation which will heighten the risk of ice jamming and flooding issues.
Residents are being reminded to not attempt to walk or drive through flooded areas with ACW staff monitoring crossing structures for ice jams and localized flooding.
