The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority issued a Flood Watch yesterday for the entire watershed.
It advised that due to rainfall totals from across the watershed yesterday in the range of 45-90 mm and with it being received in a short amount of time, with high rainfall intensities and widespread distribution smaller rivers and feeder streams are approaching bankful conditions.
This has seen flooding in low-lying flood plain areas, ponding and it entering onto roads in isolated conditions.
Flows are expected to peak today and tomorrow.
They will remain higher than normal throughout the weekend.
Anyone near watercourses use caution as slippery and unstable streambanks may be present with fast-flowing waters.
