A flood watch issued by Maitland Conservation for Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh remains in effect, now with ice jams impacting Lower Maitland and Nine Mile Rivers.
Stream gauge stations in the area of Benmiller and Sharpes Creek Line are indicating a quick rise in water level, likely due to obstruction from ice formation.
Maitland Conservation says its difficult to predict where ice jams will form and how long they will last.
Staff continue to monitor conditions in the Port Albert and Benmiller areas and will provide any updates if changes occur.
