Get in festive spirit at Saturday’s Goderich Santa Claus Parade

The Goderich Santa Claus Parade and tree lighting ceremony takes place this Saturday in Courthouse Square.

The lightning ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. with a performance by John Powers on the main stage. The parade will follow, starting around 7:15 p.m. The route begins on the corner of West and Wellington St., travelling east around the square and then down South St.

David McKechnie of the Goderich BIA says there’s plenty of reasons to head downtown early that day.

“They’re encouraging people to show up around six,” he says. “Before you go there, the BIA is hosting a Christmas Craft Market at the McKay Seniors Centre. The Goderich Art Club is also going to be doing a show and sale that date.”

Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather. The early Saturday night forecast shows a low of -7.
