Goderich Fire Urging Common Sense in Home Stretch of Summer

With summer stretching on now into August, many residents are still getting out and enjoying everything there is to offer for the season.

While many get out on their RV’s and go camping and enjoy the heat, local fire departments continue to urge safety and using common sense while taking in sights and exploring.

The Goderich Fire Department has kept themselves busy over the summer and Jeff Wormington, Fire Chief for the Goderich Fire Department says while you’re out enjoying summer, there are some key things to keep in mind.

“The biggest thing for me right now is smoke detectors in your RV’s, trailers and cottages. It is the law to have them working and anywhere you reside in. When it comes to camping its just common sense, make sure you have some form of suppression when you have recreational bonfires and use caution, never leave your bbq unattended and just be safe.” said Wormington

The Goderich Firefighters will be holding their 19th annual breakfast on Sunday from 7am-12pm with proceeds going back to supporting the fire department.
