Education Minister Stephen Lecce says public elementary teachers in the province have reached a tentative contract deal with the government.
Members of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario earlier voted 95 per cent in favour of a strike with leadership saying it would help put pressure on the government to get a deal done.
With one deal reached, the government still has another to figure out with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association whose members have voted in favour a strike.
