A 72-year-old Hanover man faces attempted murder charges after an incident last Friday morning in the 200 block of 9th Street in Hanover.
Officers determined that an ongoing dispute between family members saw the male shoot an adult relative in the head with a flare gun at close range.
The 55-year-old male victim was taken to Hanover hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accused was arrested on the scene.
He was remanded into custody with a virtual bail hearing set for today.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police are stating it was an isolated incident with no threats to public safety.
