Hanover hospital receives new mammography machine thanks to endowment fund donation

Breast cancer patients at the Hanover and District Hospital will now be examined using a new mammography machine.

The new Senographic Pristina Mammography System was unveiled on December 14th.

The state-of-the-art machine will allow for faster diagnosis and subsequent treatment of breast cancer.

In a news release, the hospital says it can detect diagnosis before symptoms are present.

The new machine was purchased with an endowment fund from the late Alleene Lambertus.

The $660,000 donation was also used to cover the cost of room renovation and buying the Magseed Magnestic Seed Localization technology.

Magseed is a tiny metal seed smaller than a grain of rice that allows radiologists and surgeons to mark and remove small and early stage breast cancers with great precision.
