A Hanover Police officer has been suspended with pay following charges of assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance, assault and breach of trust by a police officer on March 9th.
The investigation that led to the charges was started on January 3rd by Hanover Police Chief Christopher Knoll after an internal review of an incident that occurred overnight on January 2nd in the Hanover Police cellblock.
It related to the use of force on a person in custody by a 25-year-member of the force.
He has been released from Owen Sound Police custody and appeared in a Walkerton court yesterday.
