This comes after five people were suspected of overdosing on opioids over a 48-hour period.
In a news release, the health unit says none of the overdoses resulted in fatalities, and none have been confirmed by toxicology.
They say since issuing the alert on Friday, there was one additional case reported.
In all of the cases, naloxone was administered to reverse the effects of the overdose.
The health unit goes on to say that all street drugs are highly toxic and fatal.
