HPPH offers Update on Planned Lifting of Provincial Health Measures

Huron Perth Public Health issued an update on the status of Covid-19 in the Region this afternoon. In the update they say that as the wave moves it’s way through Huron Perth and the rest of Ontario, the number of new infections, percent positivity, hospitalizations and outbreaks are declining.

They add that the lifting of some restrictions on January 31st and February 17th have not led to a significant rebound in new cases.

HPPH says the province plans to lift additional measures, such as proof of vaccination requirements for select indoor settings, on March 1st. They say though that several measures, such as screening and the use of face coverings, will continue.

They add that it’s important to continue following provincial direction on public health measures, as well as measures such as washing your hands frequently and ensuring ventilation in indoor spaces.

Caution for those at higher risk of severe outcome of infection should be maintained; these include the older population, those with underlying conditions and those that are unvaccinated.
