Huron Hospice Marking 10 Years of the Butterfly Release

This year will mark the 10th annual Huron Hospice Butterfly Release.

Taking place August 30th in the garden of the Bender House, the Butterfly Release is done annually bringing families together to honour loved ones through the release of butterflies.

During the event, a ceremony will be held as usual where the names of loved ones will be read where participants will then be able to release their butterflies there or at a special place to them.

Christopher Walker, Manager of Development and Communications at the Huron Hospice says the release of butterflies is a truly powerful moment for Hospices’

“Butterflies are our great symbol for Hospices’ because they are a symbol of transformation. From one thing on to the next. It’s just a really emotional event.” said Walker.

The Butterfly Release will take place on August 30th going from 2-4pm.
