As April 22nd marks Earth Day, the Huron Hospice continues to make their mark in reducing the carbon footprint in Huron County.
Since 2019, the Hospice has planted 57 new trees in the memorial forest of the Bender House.
Typically people will plant trees as part of recognizing Earth Day as every tree consumes 22kg of carbon each year.
The current area for trees at the hospice can sustain up to 1250 trees with each on planted being a living memorial which grows and flourishes for years, attracting wildlife and reducing your carbon footprint.
Those who donate to plant a tree can also take part in an annual dedication service in the Memorial Forest.
