Huron-Kinloss approves their 2022 municipal budget

The Township of Huron Kinloss have approved their 2022 budget.

The budget was passed by Council last Monday.

There are $10.1 Million in operating expenditures and $8.8 Million in capital projects.

The total expenses have resulted in a 4.14 percent hike in the tax levy, the residential rate will be up 2.83 percent or an additional $44.22 for the average home assessed at $243,115.

Combined with the County and education taxes, the overall increase will be 3.62 percent

The biggest area is transportation with a net budget of $5,255,042 which represents 47.26 percent of the budget.

That includes an 8 kilometre section of Concession 12 between Bruce Road 7 and Highway 21 where it will be pulverized and paved, the reconstruction of Wheeler and Victoria Streets in Lucknow, and the rehabilitation of the Concession 8 bridge between Highway 21 and Lake Range Drive.
