The Township of Huron-Kinloss shared word of its first and second cohorts of the Women in Carpentry 2.0 program recently completing their training with on-site builds of storage sheds at both the Ripley ball diamond and the Lucknow Sports Complex.
The program is designed to diversify the employee base of the carpentry trade by providing women with the skills & certification needed to succeed.
Huron-Kinloss say the program would not have been possible without the support of its partner organizations; UBC Local 2222 Carpenters Union, Fanshaw College and VPI Working Solutions and the Adult Learning Centre for the endless support, time and space.
For more information on the program you can contact Kristin Dimmick at kdimmick@huronkinloss.com or call 519-708-0733.
