Huron County OPP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating a robbery that took place in Wingham on Thursday, August 24th on Victoria Street, near Helena Street.
On August 28th the OPP were contacted by the 13-year-old victim’s mother who advised police that her son had been attacked while delivering newspapers on August 24th at around 4pm.
The victim was cycling westbound on Victoria Street, near Helena Street when 3 unknown males exited a trail and pulled the victim’s backpack off his back.
It was full of newspapers and the suspects threw them over the bridge into the river.
The victim was able to escape on his bicycle with the suspects chasing him.
The victim received minor injuries from the incident.
The three suspects are believed to be between the ages of 18 to 27, are male, with one wearing a grey shirt and blue pants, the second wearing a red shirt and black pants and the third wearing a black shirt.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance should they have any knowledge of this incident or suspects.
