Huron Shores Hospice to unveil “Wind Phone” at Geddes Park Nov. 3rd @ 2pm

The Huron Shores Hospice is set to unveil the latest addition to Geddes Park in Kincardine, called a Wind Phone on Friday, November 3 at 2 p.m.

It is inspired by a Japanese tradition that offers a unique space for grieving individuals to find solace and connect with lost loved ones.

The concept originated in Japan back in 2010 where a garden designer set up the first Wind Phone in his garden as a means to grieve a lost relative.

It was an unconnected rotary phone inside an old-fashioned phone booth.

Its purpose was to relay a person’s thoughts to be carried by the wind as they could not by a regular telephone line.

There are also plans to install a Wind Phone in the gazebo in the Walk of Memories in Tiverton by the end of next week.
