On March 18th at around 2:47am, Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check on London Road near Mill Road in Bluewater when a southbound vehicle failed to stop for officers at the checkpoint and sped off.
Additional officers were made aware of the incident and were able to clock the suspect vehicle traveling 62km over the posted 80km speed limit on London Road.
The driver eventually stopped and while speaking with the driver it was determined they had been drinking and was arrested for impaired operation.
As a result a 29 year old from Tilsonburg was charged with Operation while Impaired, Excessive Speed, Driving with an Open Container of Liqour and Driving without a License.
The accused will appear in Goderich court on May 1st.
