James Earl Jones Dead at 93

James Earl Jones, the voice behind Mufasa in Lion King and Darth Vader in Star Wars has died at the age of 93.

His agent Barry McPherson confirmed the death Monday morning at his home with the cause not shared. Jones over his career won two Emmys, a Golden Globe, a Grammy and two Tony awards among many others.

Jones created memorable film characters including in Field of Dreams, the Great White Hope, Star Wars and the Lion King.

Jones who failed a pre-med exam at the University of Michigan switched over to drama with true stardom coming in 1970 with The Great White Hope.
