Kincardine council is now moving to fill a vacant seat in council following the passing of Doug Kennedy.
On September 11th, council had to make the move to declare the seat vacant and have chosen to fill the Councilor Ward 1 spot through an appointment process.
Applications will open up on September 23rd and be accepted until October 25th.
The term of the position will be effective from the date of the appointment through the swearing in of the next council elected in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.
Appointment will be set on November 6th.
