The report says a Peer Review of the system has been undertaken as well as an evaluation of their operational needs and has confirmed that there is technical feasibility of them becoming a water customer.
Bruce Power in principle would fund the costs of expanding the capacity of the distribution system and treatment plant.
Staff supported the move and supported Council proceeding with an agreement between Kincardine and Bruce Power to advance design, eventual construction and connection of Bruce Power to Kincardine supplied water.
The partnership would generate approximately $750,000 of revenue each year through Bruce Powers water billings, without the associated wastewater costs or burder to the municipal wastewater system.
