The Municipality of Kincardine is providing information regarding the use of e-scooters in the community.
Kincardine has chosen not to take part in the provincial e-scooter pilot project nor have they passed any by-laws regulating their use.
As a result of these decisions, e-scooters are not allowed on municipal roads and also prohibits use of motor vehicles from being driven on any sidewalk, boulevard or municipal park, trail, beach, sports field or playing field.
This applies to e-scooters which are not permitted in the list areas and municipal roads.
Mobility scooters and motorized wheelchairs are still permitted.
Information is expected to come to council this month outlining the legislative framework and key considerations including safety, accessibility and infrastructure impacts of e-scooters and other alternative forms of transportation.
