Kincardine reminds of Taxi License Requirements after Complaints of Unlicensed Operators

The Municipality of Kincardine issued an update today to residents on taxi licensing after receiving complaints about multiple persons running unlicensed taxi services.

Kincardine says it requires operators to hold a valid municipal taxi driver’s license in order to operate taxis, limousines or other vehicles for hire.

The Municipality requires both the vehicle & driver of a taxi meet certain criteria including confirmation of insurance, safety checks every two years, and valid vulnerable sectors and driver’s license check.

To identify a licensed taxi, look for such things as a  taxi light on its roof, vehicle must have a meter and the driver’s identification must be posted within the vehicle.
