The Kincardine Kinucks Under-13 League-Level-2 hockey team were announced as the early bird winners of the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.
Coach Bob Richards tells the Shoreline Classics that their video submission showing the team help in collecting hockey gear for Indigenous youth in northern communities got them the prize.
He says they will be shooting an introduction for a future broadcast on Hockey Night in Canada.
Richards says the team were excited when he told them that they were the early bird good deeds winners.
Their video of the deed will be considered as a regional finalist for the grand prize draw which is $100,000 towards the charity of the winning team’s choice.
