Local employment numbers jumped up in December.
Monthly numbers from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board showed employment in the region increased by 2000 with gains in part time offsetting losses in full time employment.
The unemployment rate across the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region increased by 0.1 percentage points to 4%.
The provincial unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percentage points now sitting at 7 per cent.
Dana Soucie, Executive Director of the Four County Labour Market Planning Board says as the year wraps up they will be finalizing the review of annual changes and trends with hopes to have the 2025 Local Labour Market Plan in February.
