Maitland Conservation is issuing a Flood Outlook and Water Safety message across the Maitland and Nine Mile River Watersheds.
A series of thunderstorms over the last few days have brought in around 40-60mm of rainfall and with showers continuing, another 15-25mm of rainfall in the forecast.
Stream and river levels are expected to approach or slightly exceed bankfull with minor flooding typical in low lying areas.
Municipal officials are encouraged to monitor low lying and flood prone roads and residents asked to exercise caution near all watercourses.
