Work has begun on the Menesetung Bridge to help make repairs to the over 100 year old structure.
The work will keep the bridge closed for the rest of the summer, not reopening likely until September.
Work will include repairing the tops of the concrete piers which supports the bridge’s steel girders.
To help support the costs associated with the bridge and with hopes to have it converted into a walking bridge and trail, the Menesetung Bridge Association has been formed with work continuing to preserve the bridge and keep it in good repair.
