Given the recent bear sighting in Kincardine, the Municipality is providing tips and tricks should you encounter one.
While it isn’t common to see a bear in the neighbourhood, it is important to know how to react.
The municipality says if you encounter a black bear to not run or climb a tree, do not approach the bear or feed it and instead stay calm, slowly back away while keeping the bear in sight and make noise and wave your arms if the bear doesn’t leave it.
You’re asked to call 911 if the bear poses an immediate threat to personal safety.
