Murdock named Acting Mayor for rest of Goderich council term

Goderich Town Council appointed Deputy Mayor Myles Murdock to the position of Acting Mayor at their August 29 meeting, following the passing of John Grace.

Coun. Matt Hoy said that who they choose to nominate could sway opinions for the fall election, opting to nominate Coun. Michele Hansen, the only member not seeking reelection.

However Coun. Michelle Hansen rejected the nomination, saying it was protocol for the Deputy Mayor to assume the role.

Hansen did however accept the nomination to assumer Grace’s position on Huron County Council.
